THE FATEFUL HOUR
MELODIC DEATH/DOOM
I started writing genres besides metal music when I began experimenting with music creation software. Over the course of several years, I created dozens of songs in an application called "TabIt." It had a robust community of other music creators who provided criticism and praise of uploaded music.

The album Celestial Mourning was the first solo album I launched since returning home from war. I wanted this to be a dark, gloomy album. I had all of the songs specifically written for this CD. Inspired by acts like Saturnus, Opeth, and November's Doom, this thirteen minute album is an exploration on the haunting effects of grief, death, and mourning.
BENJAMIN FORTIER
GENRES VARY
The second album I launched as a solo artist is entitled Letting Go. The album is a raw exploration of a fusion of genres. It also includes my first real exploration as a singer, songwriter, graphic designer, and independent artist.

Similar to my debut EP, Letting Go is as much about grief as it is about exploring new territory. Dropping expectations and comfort zones. The album has a few "ah-ha" moments but suffers in its production, pacing, and cohesion. Regardless, it's a piece of my artistic lineage so I'm happy to put it out there for you to check out.
